Since Wonderland is having its 20th birthday, I decided to take a look back at the original StinkyTest.
Here are some things from it that may be interesting enough to add to WonderlandPlus:

  • StinkyTest Levelset.
  • The prototype Stinky and "Bug" models.
  • The walking sound (walk.wav). A flag in the options menu could be set to make the game play the sound for Old Stinky Only/Everybody/Off.
  • The Stars and "Forest" backgrounds (stars.jpg and jungle.jpg). Maybe Forest could be renamed to Jungle and Stars could be named something along the lines of "Stars (Old)" or "Stars Purple".
  • Old Rainbow Coins texture and Bonus Circles.
  • The old Square, Circle, Triangle, and Conveyor Triangle buttons.
  • Exit Laser Gate and Sphere Exit.
  • The Monsters: Dinosaur Scouge thingy, fast Kaboom triangle, Z-Bot square, and Coily ball.

I like this idea. The levelset should be a custom levelset though, not in the main screen.

+1 on this. It would be pretty cool to see the music for this added in as well, as like "TOW Beta Music" or potentially something way more creative. The file at music/placeholder.XM is a tracker file and should be playable as is (and definitely exportable).

...while typing this out I just realized that the file as the name "Giana Sisters ingame". Which also points to the music being from the C64 game of the same name: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2lqgfCRv_w
Whether it's worth adding at the risk of it being some other, older game's music is definitely another conversation now LOL
