Just a suggestion:

It would be easier for everyone that doesn't speak German to have the comments in English (note: not my first language).
I'd do it if I knew German but...

I'm not. But I guess the "first pass" should be to add the English translation besides the German original. Later on, if the translation is checked and it's right, maybe removing the German original.

Not really necessary, it is possible to compare the translation from the pull request, but it wouldn't hurt.

Feel free to open PRs so other can comment on them. Not sure if there are german speaker around here.
Anyway if you know what the code is doing an online translator is a good start.

I speak German and I think I could slowly translate it, prioritizing the more important stuff (I would translate files in small batches).
The code itself is still written in German, should i try to translate it too?

I have already translated all the comments in the boss code, and a large part of the rest (lots of search&replace). I'll probably PR that soon.
