The commands for the tutorial are incorrect and the tutorial can't be completed as written. Not a good initial experience. The tutorial shows commands and output for Kubernetes 1.10. I started from scratch on 31-December, on MacOS 10.15.2 using the "hyperkit" driver. It looks like the Kubernetes environment that's built on the local machine is for v1.17.

The first command that fails is the one to run the guestbook image.

Developing a Kubernetes application with local and remote clusters https://developer.ibm.com/tutorials/developing-a-kubernetes-application-with-local-and-remote-clusters/ is written by Greg Dritschler . It doesn't look like I can @mention him here, but I'll reach out by slack and email to him right now!

Hello @clkolde after talking with the author of the tutorial, he requested that I let you know that tutorial is being archived as out-of-date.
Instead we want to point you to a newer blog post from JJ Asghar: Options for running Kubernetes locally https://developer.ibm.com/blogs/options-to-run-kubernetes-locally/
