These are the steps that I suggest to follow:

• 1. upgrade tests & tools requirements (in py3.9)
• 2. upgrade primary libraries (e.g. fastapi, etc) (in py3.9)
  • Breaking change after pydantic version upgrade osparc-simcore#3905
    • ♻️ Maintenance/removing-old-json-schemas 🚨 osparc-simcore#3966
    • ♻️⬆️ Maintenance/removing pydantic constraints osparc-simcore#4065
  • Breaking change after fastapi version upgrade osparc-simcore#3896
    • ⬆️ Removing fastapi constraints + upgrade osparc-simcore#3945
• 3. upgrade pip (in py3.9)
  • 🔨 Upgrading pip version osparc-simcore#3957
• 4. Check compatibility and bugs sections in requirements/constraints.txt
• 5. prune unused libraries repo-wide see doc (in py3.9)
• 6. unify versions repo wide when possible. See doc
• 7. upgrade to 3.10
  • 🔨 Maintenance/upgrade python version to 3.10 osparc-simcore#4010
  • read doc
  • read release notes to check for warnings/recommendations for the upgrade
• 8. Check deprecation warnings both in code and libraries
  • Upgrade libraries for >=3.10  osparc-simcore#3533
• 9. Remove backport libraries. See doc
  • ♻️ Maintenance/small cleaning after python upgrade osparc-simcore#4047
• 10. Remove pylint 3.9 github action
• 11. Update pyupgrade config in pre-commit-config.yaml
• 12. Is there something we can automate ... /document better ... for next time we have to upgrade?
