Code to reproduce the results in the paper The spread of low-credibility content by social bots by Chengcheng Shao, Giovanni L. Ciampaglia, Onur Varol, Kai-Cheng Yang, Alessandro Flammini, and Filippo Menczer. To appear in Nature Communications. Preprint arXiv:1707.07592

Repository Structure

  • HoaxyBotsReproduction.ipynb: Jupyter Notebook that contains code to generate all the figures in the main text and supplementary information.
  • docs: Folder to host the github page for the repository. Visit iunetsci.github.io/HoaxyBots/ for an interactive visualization of the diffusion network shown in Fig. 1 of the paper.
  • visualizations: Folder to store the Gephi files for some of the figures.
  • data_raw: Folder to store the raw data. The data is hosted at doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1402266, please download the data as instructed in the README file under data_raw.
  • data_intermediate: Folder to store the intermediate data. The data is hosted at doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1402266, please download the data as instructed in the README file under data_intermediate.
