When you zoom in you can see the blocks moving as one it looks bad. Also the subpixel translation as you move your mouse is rounded awfully, do a single affine transform of scaling and translating the image instead of multiple transforms.

You mean the vanilla background? The whole point of that is that we don't change anything. If the background appears different to vanilla then that is a bug. If it just looks bad then that is mojang's bug.

it was exactly what i said, changing the texture mode from nearest to linear =/
