Timing of grid components

I'm looking to slow the grid down but can only find a way to slow the video timer. Is there a way to control this and if so, any objections to me adding it to the config file once it is identified?

Also, I noticed that when running, it stops after a while. Is there any sort of global timeout or any reason the grid would stop after a while? I am running in display mode without a server and it seems that it stops after about 15 minutes.

I would assume that it would continue to run indefinitely unless there is a time limit being set somewhere.
