Whenever I'm on battery, I set the Eco preset to maximize battery life. However, if I want to raise the TDP so that I can, say, play a game or do some intensive task, choosing the higher TDP presets or choosing a custom preset does not work.
While keeping MSI Afterburner running I observe that the CPU wattage maxes out a 6W even if I select the 'Performance' or 'Extreme' presets. It's only until after I restart the laptop that I am able to get the full performance.
