Text in the hex view looks a bit blurry, not as sharp as text in the normal edit window:

npphex

That is with Consolas font (which is normally very sharp), but the same happens with any font. I don't know much about text rendering details, font hinting configuration, etc.

Can it be improved somehow?

BTW, I'm using Notepad++ 7.9 and HexEditor 0.9.8, but this problem was visible many versions back.

(I installed manually from here, it doesn't appear as an update in Plugin Manager yet)
