Hi,

I'm not very familiar with how a project like this is put together, and how everything works, but a few features that would be useful or just nice for chemists such as myself might be:

  • The option to manually change atom colours using the settings app you already have.
  • Can more file types be used? For example a .res file (I can provide examples of these if needed).
  • For .cif files that contain disordered components, is it possible to filter so only PART0 and PART1 are shown? And could this selection be changed in the settings app?

Thanks for this wonderful project.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing your feedback here. I will need some more details in order to better understand your ideas.

  • For the atom colors; would you like to be able to change the colors for all atoms individually? Or are you just unhappy with some of the default colorings? (Or do you just want to match the coloring with existing standards from other software?)
  • I have never worked with .res files. Also Google was not really helpful. Do you have a link to an example file or some more information about this file type? But in general I am limited by the abilities of 3Dmol.js to read files. Maybe there would be an easy tool to convert the files on-the-fly to a supported format though.
  • I am unfortunately also not familiar with how these PARTs work in the CIF format. Do you have an example of such a file?
