[FEATURE] Standalone Flathub/Flatpak Install #5
Comments
Hi there! Thank you, I am glad you like my app :) Also, thank you for letting me know about Flatpak. Releasing the app on Web, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS and macOS is really a lot of work for one person. I was looking into adding the app to the Debian or Ubuntu repository, but it seems much harder than adding it to Microsoft / Google / Apple store (and even that takes a lot of time) because the process looks much more difficult. Right now I searched for Flathub / Flatpak (and also found Snap / Snapcraft) and I learned that could be a better option than the Debian / Ubuntu repository. For the last 3 months I have been working on the next version of the app and writing it from from scratch because I encountered many problems that prevented me from making import / export work on Android / iOS and from making cloud sync work. I should have the next version working soon, at first only for Web, Windows, Linux because making it for Android, iOS and macOS is more work. I will look into Flatpak and if the process is simpler than adding it to Debian / Ubuntu repository I will try to do it :) |
Wonderful! I'm really glad you're interested in Flatpak- I truly believe it's the future of software distribution in Linux. AppImage is great as well but I wouldn't recommend Snap as it's controlled by Canonical/Ubuntu, isn't open-source, and is overall worse than Flatpak and AppImage. I wish I could help and contribute though I know nothing about coding/software development. Thanks for your response! |
Hi there, great app!
I really am interested in using it often though there isn't a Flatpak version yet sadly, would that be possible?
