(1.18.2) Flywheel ISN'T compatible with Optifine #139
Comments
Log? |
Here's the crash log:
|
You do not have Flywheel installed.
|
Oh crap that was the wrong log then. I had to reload both mods active at the same time, and when it crashes in that circumstance it doesn't even produce a crash log. |
Alright, here's the actual log, I have a bunch of other mods, but as far as I was able to test, none of them influence the crash except Optifine and Flywheel itself:
|
There is always a log which starts getting created as soon as you launch Minecraft. If Minecraft crashes so early that there is no log, then it is not a Flywheel issue as mods are not loaded that early. |
This log doesn't contain the error. |
You may say that it's not a mod issue because of how early it crashes, but if that's the case, how the heck do you explain the fact that the problem fixes itself the moment you remove either one of the mods? |
Oh yeah, btw, here's the error that shows up in the game output window:
|
So I did a bit of digging, and apparentally this is an issue with both Optifine AND Flywheel in tandem. It crashes so early because Optifine is breaking, but Optifine only breaks because it detects Flywheel's presence and simply refuses to work in the same modpack. It's a frickin paradox of issues, and it needs to be fixed pronto. |
This is not a fix but a workaround: Try using Oculus + Rubidium instead |
I'll try that when I get the chance, but even if it does work. I'm going to continue to leave this issue open since this whole problem still needs to be fixed properly. |
I can't reproduce this crash (and flywheel isn't in the most recent log you sent), but #143 is an Optifine bug on forge. If you can provide a crash log with ONLY optifine and flywheel installed, I'll re-open this issue. |
No, do NOT close this. It is NOT a bug with Optifine exclusively because I was able to run it just fine without Flywheel. You're literally sending me in circles by doing this because the Optifine community themselves are saying this is an issue on your end. |
Can you tell I'm kinda pissed right now? I literally cannot provide the information you're asking for because even if I do exactly what you say, it won't produce an actual crash log for me to copy and paste. On top of that, I already contacted Optifine through discord, and they said to continue searching for help here. |
Okay, scratch everything I said here. It was NOT an issue with Flywheel, nor create. I've contacted the Optifine server to see what component of my modpack broke it. |
Describe the Bug
I'll be blunt: Optifine is straight up NOT compatible with Flywheel, despite what the mod description says. Whenever I load Flywheel with Optifine at the same time, the game just straight up crashes before it can even boot up, with an exit code of 1, of course.

Expected Result
I would've expected the two mods would work together just fine, but NOPE. The description lies, albiet unintentonally.
