Alright, its about time for fundamentally improving the function estimate_delay.
estimate_delay
For the Gissinger system at default parameters it gives delay 500 while very good values are in the range of 30-40 for timestep dt = 0.05.
dt = 0.05
Notice however that the delay time suggested by the function multiplied with dt gives the perfect delay of around 30.

This is not actually a bug, the function does exactly what it says in the doc string.
More like "improve the function precision".
