When Jolee joins the party, the non-party Jolee is destroyed. He visibly fades out after the party selection screen is closed. Perhaps he could be destroyed before opening the party screen when the camera is on the player showing the message [JOLEE has joined your party.] [Left-click this response to go to PARTY SELECTION screen.] At the very least, set bNoFade to TRUE and reduce the delay time for the DestroyObject command from the current 1 second in k_pkas_joleejoin.

Check k_pkas_joleejoin on Reply 15 in kas24_jolee_02.dlg (kas_m24aa).

Hrm, seems like if you try to kill him too quick, the conversation exits without showing the party selection screen. Which makes sense I guess, if you are killing the object the conversation belongs to. I guess we'll have to put this one down to an unavoidable quirk of the engine.

I realised I was going about this all wrong. Naturally the answer all long was not to do it right, but to cheat my way to victory.

1.9.0 beta test observations:

  • Seems like this needs to updated bring it into line with later party addition changes, like Mission and Zaalbar, walking him to the vacated spot.
