ANQ (Anqing Clique) - Various Bugs

Year 1941, the Anqing Clique is currently in Fengtian's National Pacification Army with Fengtian and Shanxi Clique, united the five provinces and annexed Hunan and Liangguang Clique. Fengtian declared war on Beijing Goverment (Puyi was forced to abduct by Wu) before triggering the reclamation war events and defeat it with Shanxi and Anqing Clique.

• Only Lu Yongxiang will join you in Exiled military leader event, even if you chose "we need all the help" and spend political points on all candidates.

• The "whether to join the reclamation war" event chain still pops up even on the condition that Qing (or Zhili Clique) has already been defeated.

• Beiyang Ideas and Industrial Leap Forward has no effect in whatever situation. Not sure if there is a hidden mechanism but it remains to be a dummy focus during my playthrough siding with Fengtian.

• This is technically not a bug, but picking Republican Credibility focus locks you out of both Pan-Asian Spirit and Nationalist Spirit in the military tree, making them and Modern Officer Corps, two out of three pretty useful focus unattainable. In return you can take the focus National Development Project - but it has no effect aside from increasing Fengtian Influence by 1%. Seems to be a mistake here.

• The government idea granted by focus Mantetsu Rolling Stock is immediately canceled upon being added. This is probably because I have already finished all rebuild decisions before taking this focus but there is no info on what the prerequisites are, making it kind of confusing.

Lu Yongxiang is the only general to flee to Anqing - the other two are admirals.

I played as Anqing a little bit more. It seems that after participating in the conference after Beijing is defeated and annexing Liangguang and Hunan, there is no further events or focus to take on other cliques, and there is no way to leave Fengtian's National Pacification Army or to vie for control over the whole country like described in the dev diary. Probably i missed something.

Thanks for the response! Any chance we can see events related to "The tiger of Beiyang" Duan Qirui, the former leader of Anqing/Anhui Clique? He was famed in China for his deed of "三造共和“ (built and restored the republic from the hands of monarchists three times, defeating Qing, Yuan Shikai and Zhang Xun in the process) and was still alive in 1936.

Duan was the Republic of China's head of state, making him a powerful political figure in Anhui Clique.

By the way Anhui Clique is probably a better name for ANQ - In modern China history the names of cliques were taken from the name of the province they originated in, for example the Zhi (直) in Zhi Clique (直系, literally Zhi Clique) stands for Zhili (直隶) province and the Jin (晋) in Shanxi Clique (晋系, literally Jin Clique) is the abbreviation for Shanxi (山西) Province, Liangguang (两广, literally translated to Two Guangs) stands for Guangdong (广东) and Guangxi (广西) provinces. Even the Feng (奉) in Fengtian Clique (奉系, literally Feng Clique) stands for the Fengtian Province (today's Liaoning), not the city of Fengtian (today's Shenyang), as Fengtian Province was one of the 22 provinces in Qing era.

In Anqing's case - Anqing is a city in Anhui province, and is never the name of the province throughout China's history, so it is a little bit awkward to use the name Anqing Clique instead of Anhui Clique. Duan Qirui's faction, the clique which based in Anhui in the real timeline, was named 皖系(literally Wan Chique, where Wan is the abbreviation for Anhui in Chinese). So probably Anhui Clique is a better name than Anqing Clique in the first place, or let Chen change the name from Anqing Chique to Anhui Chique after defeating the league as a gesture of asserting legitimate control over the whole province.

For the same reason, the Nanjing Clique after the league's collapse is probably better named as Southern Zhili Clique (南直系)

By the way, there is a typo in 0.10.1: in Zhili's event Selecting a President, the correct Chinese spelling for pragmatism should be "shiyongzhuyi" instead of "shiyanzhuyi".

We called them Anqing Clique precisely to differentiate them from the historical Anhui Clique, as there is no real relation between the two other than that they came from the same region. We also call the Nanjing Clique the Nanjing Clique to make it more its own thing and to make things clearer for the player.
