When a dragon dies and its staff is still bound to it, dropping the staff seemed to instantly cause the game to crash any users that look at it, with a "unable to render entity" style crashlog.
Recreation: Bind a Dragon Staff (Red geode) with a dragon. (Butterfly Leviathan in my case)
Have dragon die (mine was via another BFL)

Drop item on the ground
Anyone who views the item, including the dropper/owner, will crash immediately.

I should note we DID fix it by having the host YANK his mouse to look up at the sky before the item could load, thus not rendering it physically, and running /kill @e[type=item]
