The android client crashes on various things:
Playlist download (hangs then crashes)
Browsing artist/album/track if scroll too far the client crashes. sometimes can get to T 8)
*Random other things.
HTC Wildfire S Android 2.3.5

The banshee-extension crashes on a more random basis, but restarts or whatever, which is a bonus. 8)

Thank you for your report.

I receive the crash reports for the android application.
But I can't tell why the extension is crashing.
You can probably tell when you start banshee from console and see the output while using it.
You should be able to see crash logs there.

I have to confess that I didn't do anything for a while on this project.
There's so much to do and the time is so short.
I had to drop the support for this... I'm sorry.

My plan was to improve and extend the original code but I think I made it worse.

Viktor

Thanks Viktor,
So you will no longer be working on this project at all and we should switch back to the original plugin? Pity, looked promising, with nice features like the top bar still visible etc.

Hi spmp,

I'm afraid you have to stick to the original app and plugin.
I'd like to finish this. There would be nice features to implement (I thought about a download manager and live to device streaming). But I'm afraid I won't have the time to do that.

The problem is that I started with the intention to improve the original code because of personal interest.
But now I don't even use this application anymore and so there's no real motivation to keep going...

I'm really sorry for that. I hate to let people down... :-(

Regards
Viktor

No worries, thanks for what you did do.
Out of interest what do you use now? I am still looking for a real client/server media app with search-> playlist like rhythmbox/banshee (i.e no xmms2 clients do this)..

Cheers.
