Q: Doesn't Discord already have rich presence support for PSN?

A: Yes, but only for PS4/PS5. This app intends to allow users to show activity on PSN as far back as the PSP, though primarily focused on the PS3.

Q: Will PS1 games show up when I'm playing them?

A: Unfortunately, no. Due to the way PSN works, it doesn't send information about PS1 games to any presences. Trust me, if I could I totally would allow that, but unfortunately I can't.

Q: Okay, what about PS2 games?

A: No to that as well unfortunately.

Q: Then what about Turbografx-16/PC-Engine games?

A: According to a tester, it seems to work with TG16 games.

Q: Will it show what I'm doing in game?

A: No. It will only show what game you're playing and what system it's on. This is, yet again, a limitation of PSN itself and I unfortunately can't help that.

Q: Would this work with the new Playstation Store, Playstation Home, or other "system" titles?

A: Most system titles will pop up as long as they'd pop up on your friends list as a "Playing ____" status.

Q: Can I fork this and make some edits?

A: Yes, as long as you give credit. (And as long as said edits aren't malicious towards the end user, any other user, or PSN.)

Q: Can I view the status of another account with this?

A: Unless you don't own the account yourself, you won't be able to see what they're doing. It'll only tell you if they're online or not. This is something regarding PSN itself and I couldn't do anything about it if I wanted to.

Q: Why doesn't my status automatically update?

A: I've set the update to 1 minute for a multitude of reasons but it really boils down to not wanting to accidentally overload/DDoS the PSN servers. I figured a minute was a good waiting period, though there may be a bit of inaccuracy in certain cases. Either way, I DO NOT recommend editing the update timer to anything under at least 30 seconds.

Q: Can I use this with a PS2 and Ratchet: Deadlocked/other PS2 online compatible game?

A: No. This project requires use of the PS3-onward PSN. It might be possible for someone who works with PS2 online servers to add support to something similar in their server backend, but don't quote me on that. Either way, I doubt this app would update to make use of anything like that if it did happen.

Q: Will this app work on PS4/PS5?

A: I don't doubt it would, but in all honesty, you should be using the official Discord integration for that instead. Maybe when the PS4 becomes more obsolete, support will be dropped and there'll be a reason to use this on PS4.
