multi midi or audio stream per instrument support

Want there to be support for multi midi channel per instrument support in a future if possible.
Vst plug-ins like C700vst don't work with LMMS due to how there is no support for this feature inside the program. I think it should be a feature to be added into LMMS because other DAWS have it but I like the simple UI with LMMS so that is why I ask that if there is going to be another for LMMS then they should consider adding that feature in.

This looks similar to #6459, where a VST receives input from different MIDI streams.
However, this seems to ask more specifically to be able to tie several instrument tracks with different MIDI outputs to the same VST (instance). I wonder how possible this is?
Essentially, #6459 combined with #3136
