Possible work-around for the "sleeping when text is marked in the console" issue

If you start the app using Windows Terminal from the MS Store it doesn't matter if you select text or not, it will not let the app sleep.
It would be possible to provide a script to automatically install Windows Terminal via winget and also create a start script in the folder to automatically run in Terminal instead of cmd or powershell. This would be easy for the less experienced users.
