Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Being able to write individual words and arrange them into sentences are helpful skills, but it feels like they should be building towards another skill, which is writing the whole sentence in the target given the source.
I acknowledge that these kinds of exercises can be difficult, but they're also very good for improving your understanding of a language

Describe the solution you'd like

A new challenge type, Long Input challenge, used for phrases rather than words. It would be the same as the chip challenge, but without chips, simply an input box. It could have a priority of 3rd or 4th even to not show it too early.

Describe alternatives you've considered

One alternative are leaving things as they are, which I think is fine, but can make it harder for courses to give users a proper command of a language.

Another alternative is following what (I think) Duolingo does, which is having the option to toggle between chip challenges and typed challenges in settings, this would allow more 'hardcore' users to practice in that way, without scaring off more casual users.
