Livesplit not responding and update error

Hello :)
I've been dealing with this problem with livesplit for a while now, where sometimes livesplit will randomly crash and the only way to close it is through task manager.
I also get an error message when clicking "Yes" on the update prompt that shows up on startup

(translates to: "Exception during webclient request")
Deleting livesplit and downloading it again fixed the issue initially, but it started happening again after reopening it once.
I'm using Windows 11.
