Hi!

When I use hw:Generic,0,0 (it is card#2 dev#0) as microphone, everything works fine.
But: If some other application (like Skype) uses the dsnoop-plugin, that also uses hw:Generic,0,0, it does not work...

So I use the dmix-plugin...
But: Then I get unrequested ~200msec pauses in twinkle's outgoing stream...

Funnily arecord can read flawlessly from pcm.twinkle at 8kHz and at 48kHz (see picture; I also attached my /etc/asound.conf),
if that «defaults.pcm.rate_converter "samplerate_order"» line is commented out
(if it is not commented out there are funny error messages, if re-sampling is necassary).

How can I share the same mic with twinkle?

I mean: What does arecord @48khz do different than twinkle?

How can I make twinkle to get the 48kHz rate from pcm.micend and then downsample it to 8kHz itself (like it possibly does with hw:Generic,0,0)?

Should I ask in an alsa forum?

Is my alsa config wrong?
But: Why does it work then for a few seconds?

Thx.

Bye.

with some more plug-plugins (/etc/asound.conf) it works nicely... giggle :) w00t
