Where is the .bps file?

I may just be stupid, but I cannot find a download for the .bps patch. All I can find is a .zip with the source code

There's a zip file that explicitly says ROM Patches.

Now I'm getting an error saying the patch is not intended for the ROM I have. I read your troubleshooting and it said to make sure it is in .z64 format, which it is. So I'm not sure where to go from there

Well there are different patches for each version of Ocarina of Time. If none of them work, then your ROM isn't the right one to use.
