This release fixes the problem where crouching in real life would lead to Cate systematically shooting too high. Also, localized versions are back! Many thanks to Martin Nista, Fguillotine and Fabien Nys for their help translating the VR options!!!

Download NOLF2_REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_r3.rar for English, or the file matching your language for localized versions of the game (DE-ES-FR-IT). If you're using a localized build of the mod, make sure that you also have the corresponding version of the original game and of the 1.3 patch, otherwise voices and textures will still be in English.

The README with instructions for installation and gameplay is included in the .rar files, and you can also find it here. There's also a discussion thread over at the Oculus forums, please come and say hi!

If you have played a previous version of the mod (or the original game), installing this release will not delete or overwrite any of your saves. If you used the standard "Player" profile, however, your game options will be reset to defaults.

For people who have the Oculus Rift: Dash is fully supported (automatic pause, weapon hiding, music mute and so on), so you can play with a walkthrough open, in case you're stuck hunting for that pesky missing cue :-)

The HTC Vive is also supported via an embedded copy of Revive updated to version 1.2.1 (thanks to u/CrossVR for his amazing work and particularly for helping me sort out some initial issues!!!). Note: at least one user has experienced problems with the embedded Revive dll's, but was successful using "Inject..." on Lithtech.exe from the usual Revive system tray menu... YMMV. Please report back how it works for you :-)

Enjoy!

Update Feb 3: Refreshed the release to include the latest Revive 1.2.1; updated the README file with some new information about possible errors with Revive.

This release adds support for the HTC Vive, via an embedded copy of Revive (thanks to u/CrossVR for his amazing work and particularly for helping me sort out some initial issues!!!). Note: at least one user has experienced problems with the embedded Revive dll's, but was successful using "Inject..." on Lithtech.exe from the usual Revive system tray menu... YMMV. Please report back how it works for you :-)

Download NOLF2_REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_r2.rar for English, or the file matching your language for localized versions of the game (DE-ES-FR-IT, coming soon).

The README with instructions for installation and gameplay is included in the .rar file, and you can also find it here. There's also a discussion thread over at the Oculus forums, please come and say hi!

If you have played a previous version of the mod (or the original game), installing this release will not delete or overwrite any of your saves. If you used the standard "Player" profile, however, your game options will be reset to defaults.

If you have an Oculus Rift, there is no real need to update from Release 1 to Release 2; also, you can still use Release 1 if you need a localized version (of course without Vive support).

Update Jan 25: refreshed the German version (many thanks to Martin Nista for translating the VR options into German!!!)

Update Jan 16: French version (still looking for a volunteer to help me translate the VR options!)

Update Jan 11: Italian version

Update Jan 10: Spanish version (kudos to Fguillotine for translating the VR options!!!)

This is the initial public release for the mod. Download NOLF2_REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_r1.rar for English, or the file matching your language for localized versions of the game (DE-ES-FR-IT).

If you have played the closed beta of the mod (or the original game), installing this release will not delete or overwrite any of your saves. If you used the standard "Player" profile, however, your game options will be reset to the new defaults.

Changelog from the beta:

  • added full support for Dash (automatic pause, weapon hiding, music mute and so on when in Oculus overlay mode), so it should be much easier to play with a walkthrough open, in case you're stuck hunting for that pesky missing cue
  • better readability for menus and game screens (big thanks to Stephen Viljoen, game director at Slightly Mad Studios for the wonderful Project CARS series, who honored me by being one of the early testers of the mod and giving out lots of useful advice!!!)
  • easier configuration of cutscene options via presets, and more conservative defaults to avoid inducing dizziness in some people (again, thanks to the beta testers who gave important feedback)
  • better compatibility with different versions of the game: it should no longer be needed to manually delete files or folders
  • various other small fixes and additions, like a slider to control the world scale

Enjoy!
