GitHub dropped support for password authentication some time ago. Thus MCreator's remote workspace no longer works with GitHub. Other services can still be used, eg. GitLab.

There should be a new authentication system for GitHub added as right now remote workspaces don't work with GitHub.

I agree. I'm trying to use github as a remote repository in mcreator.

You can use it by logging in with an authentication token, as written in MCreator.
