We should split actual interface into two interfaces; one for segmentation and the other for similarity annotation.
In the segmentation interface, reused from the actual one, we should have:

  • all tiers in the same page
  • no reference sound
  • no option for similarity annotation

Please consider adding zoom for the segmentation. Maybe better to zoom all the tiers simultaneously. The reason of hoping of this function is that:

most of the audio files are long, it is hard to precisely put the segment boundaries if we cannot see the details of the attack, especially for small segment tier, syllable or phoneme

For some tiers, such as rhythmic pattern and mode system, the options for the segment label are fixed.

Example, rhythmic pattern may include: yuanban (normal tempo), manban (slow tempo), kuaiban (fast tempo)...
melodic pattern may include: xipi, erhuang, sipingdiao ...

so what I think maybe it's better to provide a drop-down menu with a fixed amount of label options for these tiers.

As for now there is a 4x zoom, could we have it bigger? When annotating phonemes, we will need high precission.
