I think something with the text alignment goes wrong

s = [scatter(1000rand(10), rand(10)) for i in 1:3]
title(hbox(s...), "$(('A':'Z')...)"^2, textsize=20)

Note how much padding on the right the png has... ("drag" the picture a bit to see)
