In-game mechanics:

  • Gel effects on enemies/entities - bridges, cubes and custom enemies alike;
  • More indicator lights - Possibly include an easy-to-customize entity for toggleable textures;
  • More logic gates.

Customization:

Better Editor improvements:

  • Tile scrolling with middle-click-and-drag;
  • Entity/enemies placement visualization in real size;
  • Tile groups saving;
  • Renaming objects.

Features that might be implemented, but are unlikely (read: don't expect these):

Does this include laser relays?

Laser relays are just retextured laser catchers, which will already be possible with the Texture Suffix option

A mod I made for Mari0 1.6 that, besides trying to mimic some SE features, also added some new ones: http://forum.stabyourself.net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3477
