Checks

  • I provided nvram backup file
  • I provided sticker photo

Console model

scph-90004

Describe the issue

My console reads the original ps1/ps2 pal games perfectly but for some reason it refuses to read the ps1 CD backups
If I get the cd icon to appear in the menu and load it, it just goes black for a few seconds and returns me to the menu.
I have used the latest version of mechapwn rc4. select retail-dex, usa multi 7

What do you mean? the one in my post should be the original

Is it pal games?

after a while I found the problem, it was the fault from laser, it simply refused to read the backups(normal games worked properly ps1/ps2), I replaced it with a new one and everything was solved.

but over time I found this strange problem, sometimes when I turn on the ps2, sometimes it turns on in japanese! or sometimes it just turns on with the fan too fast and makes a lot of noise and the only solution I found for that is to reboot a bunch of times, until it turns on ''properly'', Could this problem be due to mechapwn ?

Do you know if there is a place where I can research the problem?
