Checks

  • I provided nvram backup file
  • I provided sticker photo

Console model

DESR-5000

Describe the issue

Yeah... Install went smooth with no errors, but as soon I turn on the console, I was greeted with a red screen with a warning.
Restore the nvm file solved my brick though.
nvm_5.10_0918251.zip

Never saw this message on DESR. What's your firmware version? 1.06?

1.16, I think.
The last time I checked I remember plugging it into the Ethernet cable and trying to do an update, it gave an error showing the firmware version if I remember correctly. The only problem is that my psx is not near a network cable at the moment.

Ok, I managed to check with another method... The version.txt on xosd folder says 1.06.

It works now, thanks👍
Well, at least the red screen with the warning is no longer appearing... So I'd say it's working :)

Not sure if is a problem on my PSX (dead lens) or a bug in mechpwn, but I burned a copy of Shinobi with the master disc patch, the game is detected by the cdvd reader but kinda enters in bootloop... The same disc works fine on my 70012 mechpwned.

SCPH-70012 is US region, while DESR is Jap region. You should apply master patch for the Japanese region in order to boot it on the DESR.

I tried the Japanese patch on the PSX update disc 1.31 (CD) and FF12 (DVD), both have the same problem. I don't think it's a problem with the disc reader, my PSX's CD player still works without bypass and still had the problem.
I also tried with Japanese PS1 games, it boots but it gets stuck in a black screen.

I hope that you tried to boot disk through wlaunchelf option launch disk?

Ok, I was using fastboot, fastboot doesn't work on PSX?
I didn't know it was possible to boot from ulaunchelf. The default Launchelf that comes with FMCB does not allow this, I ended up using the version modified by kracken. PS1 discs now boots with no issues, I ended up using verbatim CD-R.
