When I update MiKTeX it completely breaks #200

Please replace this section with the required information:
I installed MiKteX on my windows 7.
When I updated it using the console the entire thing broke

This is my installation summary

Install basic packages to
C:\Users\aman\AppData\Local\Programs\MiKTeX 2.9

Install MiKTeX only for the current user

Preferred paper size is Letter

Packages will be installed after confirmation by user

I Updated all the packages (173 updates) to this directory

C:\Users\aman\AppData\Local\Programs\MiKTeX 2.9

p.s. I normally use overleaf for all my LaTeX docs but wanted to try to run it on my local computer.

it worked when I installed it for all users. still doesnt work for single user

You should not run MiKTeX with elevated privileges. This bug has been fixed (see #53).
