When I open a file on emacs, it keeps loading for a few seconds and nothing is displayed but "Loading 00debian-vars..."
In the console, "time emacs myfile" and closing the file as soon as it is displayed outputs :
real 0m2.862s
user 0m0.078s
sys 0m0.109s
The file is about 40lines and isn't big. On my Ubuntu machine, it is displayed in 0m0.661s
I'm using Windows 14393.187

File I/O is known to be slow because they have to emulate inodes and linux-style permissions and certain NT-incompatible behaviors on top of NTFS. The devs say they have some ideas to get things working faster, but they haven't told us publicly how they are going to do it.
