In Japan, an additional depreciation is permitted under certain conditions.

Use this procedure to learn how to propose additional depreciation. Before you begin, be sure that the fixed asset has been acquired and the ordinary depreciation has been posted. Also, be sure that the Fixed Assets configuration key is selected.

This procedure uses the JPMF demo company data.

  1. Go to Fixed assets > Journal entries > Fixed assets journal.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Name field, type a value.
  4. Click Lines.
  5. Click Proposals.
  6. Click Extraordinary depreciation proposal.
  7. In the To date field, enter a date.
  8. Click Filter.
    • By using the filter, it helps to speed up the process by focusing on only the fixed assets with the specified criteria.
  9. In the Criteria field, type a value.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click Post.
