Is there any SLA if i deploy 2 VMs in paired region #24105
Comments
@aquibqureshi26 the SLA would still be 99.90% unless you also paired them with a load balancer to manage the traffic between the two. Without that there is nothing actually binding the two VMs together to ensure high availability. |
thanks. Yes i was assuming that traffic is being load balanced. if I bind it with load balancer then SLA for my service would increase than 99.90%? then what would be the SLA if load balancer is being used. |
For all Internet facing Virtual Machines that have two or more instances deployed in the same Availability Set, we guarantee you will have external connectivity at least 99.95% of the time. So deploying to two paired regions does not actually matter. You just need to have the VMs in the same AV set which then means they are in separate fault domains and you get the 99.95% SLA instead of the 99.90% https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/legal/sla/virtual-machines/v1_0/ https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/manage-availability |
there should be some SLA as per the composite SLA. but I think it is not available for VMs https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/architecture/resiliency/#composite-slas |
@aquibqureshi26 correct the link you shared does not apply to VMs. Only the SLAs I provided in the above links apply to VMs. |
And last question, do you know which azure service is applicable for composite SLA |
@aquibqureshi26 if you read back over the doc you linked composite SLA is just a combination of two different services each with their own SLA. So in the example, we have a Web App and a SQL DB So it is just a combination of two services with separate SLA terms and how you could in theory combine both the SLAs to come up with a composite SLA |
thanks buddy. |
I have 2 VMs one in West India and 2nd is in South India. both the individual VM would be 99.90% SLA as they are premium storage. My question is Does Microsoft provide composite SLA if i deploy the VMs in paired region?
And if yes then what would be the SLA of service in my scenario?
There is an article which mentions about the composite SLA.
