The steps in "Create a custom synch rule in Azure AD Connect cloud sync for EmployeeHireDate" recommend a mapping with "Source attribute: msDS-cloudExtensionAttribute1" but msDS-cloudExtensionAttribute1 is not available in Cloud Sync out-of-the-box.
