Get-DnsClientNrptGlobal |
Gets the NRPT global settings.
Get-DnsClientNrptGlobal [-Server <String>] [-GpoName <String>] [-CimSession <CimSession[]>]
[-ThrottleLimit <Int32>] [-AsJob] [<CommonParameters>]
The Get-DnsClientNrptGlobal cmdlet gets the following Name Resolution Policy Table (NRPT) details:
- DirectAccess (DA) settings.
- DNS client query policy.
- DNS client name resolution fallback policy.

This example retrieves the global NRPT settings.
PS C:\> Get-DnsClientNrptGlobal -GpoName "corp.contoso.com\DirectAccess Client Settings"
This example retrieves the global NRPT settings for the GPO named DirectAccess Client Settings that is linked to corp.contoso.com.
PS C:\> Get-DnsClientNrptGlobal -GpoName "corp.contoso.com\DirectAccess Client Settings" -Server "dc1"
This example retrieves the global NRPT settings for the GPO named DirectAccess Client Settings that is linked to corp.contoso.com on the server named dc1.
PS C:\> Get-DnsClientNrptGlobal -GpoName "corp.contoso.com\DirectAccess Client Settings" -CimSession 2-dc1.corp2.corp.contoso.com
This example retrieves the global NRPT settings for the GPO named DirectAccess Client Settings that is linked to corp.contoso.com on the remote computer named 2-dc1.corp2.corp.contoso.com.
Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete.
The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt.
You can continue to work in the session while the job completes.
To manage the job, use the *-Job
cmdlets.
To get the job results, use the Receive-Job cmdlet.

object is a wrapper class that displays Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) objects.
The path after the pound sign (#
) provides the namespace and class name for the underlying WMI object.
The DnsClientNrptGlobal object contains all of the properties of the DNS client NRPT global settings.
