The offhand animations (offhand weapon strike, shield bashing) are looking like they are played on a lower framerate.
Why this happens is, simply because the animation code relies on render tick without taking render partial tick time in consideration.

Why this happens is, simply because the animation code relies on render tick without taking render partial tick time in consideration.
On my BattleGear fork project I have made a simple fix for this problem. Altough my fork is based on an older version (for Minecraft 1.7.10), you can still use the idea behind the solution. Here is all you need:
