Hi guys,
Setting up a new phone and I just couldn't find this app on Google Play store.
Is it not being maintained anymore?
I really like this app!

Hey, thanks for the concern. The situation is as follows.

Google has suspended the app from the Play Store. Believe it or not, this has happened several times before. Hacker News being a website with user generated content, Glider automatically falls under larger scrutiny compared to many other types of apps. Notably, Google requires that the user is able to block and report objectionable content and users, in an in-app flow. For the blocking part of the requirement, I've added the ability to locally block users (after Google had previously suspended the app citing the same policy). Reporting is more difficult because I, as the front-end developer, don't actually maintain any of the data. And Hacker News doesn't provide an automated system for reporting content. That makes it not immediately obvious how this should actually be implemented.

So that's where we currently are. Could I appeal this, or add a button in the app that opens your email client addressing hn@ycombinator.com with a prefilled template for reporting content, thus somewhat satisfying the policy in a roundabout way? Maybe. But after multiple suspensions, among others because Google felt that "No ads, no telemetry" was not an accurate description of the app (!) I've been increasingly demotivated to fight the beast. What started as a fun side project for me has turned out to not be so fun anymore.

That is so annoying.
These platforms are getting very difficult to develop on. Its ridiculous.
This is a very well built app. I tried all the others.
