I have verified that this issue is no longer reproducible with the latest Firefox Reality version 8-33521753 (379b8f1) installed on the Oculus Go, Quest, HTC Vive Focus and Focus Plus headsets.
The play button appears even when entering immersive mode before playing a video.
While verifying this issue I encountered a bug related to the functionality of the play button that is documented in #2504.
