[Affected Versions]:

  • Firefox Reality version 9-40371914 (083b65c)

[Affected Platforms]:

  • Oculus Quest - Android 7.1.1
  • HTC Vive Focus Plus - Android 7.1.2

[Prerequisites]:

  • The headset is turned on and the browser is installed and open.
  • A web page containing links is open.

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Open a new tab from the Context Menu of a link.
  2. While the “New Tab Added!” notification is still displayed, press the back button from the controller.
  3. Open a new tab again.

[Expected results]:
Step 2: The Tabs View button’s color changes back from Azure to Fog.
Step 3: The “New Tab Added!” notification is displayed.

[Actual results]:
Step 2: The Tabs View icon remains Azure thereafter.
Step 3: The “New Tab Added!” notification is no longer displayed.

[Notes]:

  • This issue is also reproducible for the other notifications: “Saved to Bookmarks!”, “Pop-up Blocked!”, “Tabs Sent”.
  • Using the controller (Home button 10s) forcekill will only change the color of the button back.
  • Using the adb force-stop command will fix this issue.
  • Attached is a recording of the issue.

I have verified this issue and it is no longer reproducible with the latest Firefox Reality version 9-40421211 (6d038c9) build.
The button's icon no longer remains azure and notifications are still displayed after manually dismissing one.
Tested on Oculus Go (Android 7.1.2), Oculus Quest (Android 7.1.1), HTC Vive Focus Plus (Android 7.1.2) and HTC Vive Focus (Android 7.1.2).
