When executing the "next" command (with mpc or another client) while mpd is crossfading, it will start the song that was already faded-in from the beginning. Not sure about expected behavior but jumping to the song after the one that has already begun using cross-fade is definitely more useful, e.g. when you hear the beginning of the song and want to skip it. I wouldn't consider this a bug, some people might like the current behavior better I guess? But for me it was unexpected (and annoys me every time) so I guess the best solution would be making this a configurable feature.
