An attendance Managing tool to consolidate all raw excel file to a single database, which can be accessed even by non-coders using the universally friendly UI. Part of an Internship I did at Aithent Inc.
The project is a web-application that utilizes the Apache Tomcat server, a MySQL data warehouse, and a DataTables plugin from JQuery to provide an easy-to-use interface for managing and analyzing attendance data. It allows for the conversion of excel files containing attendance data in shorthand styles, e.g. 3-oct, to a well-defined schema in the database. The system allows users to find absences, presents, and no data, and automatically updates as more recent data is given. The Java servlets provide an abstraction layer for non-coders to interact with the database, taking care of data transfer and validation between the excel and the database. This system is versatile tool for managing and organizing data that is user-friendly for non-coders too.
