Vapor lacks error messages for unsupported data #3405

To reproduce:

Import the CF-compliant NetCDF file in /glade/p/cisl/vast/vapor/Bugs/3405
The file will import successfully but the domain extents will range from 0:0 on X, Y, and Z, and no renderers will be enabled. Vapor should indicate why this dataset is not supported.

Note that this file describes its grid as unstructured.
