Contributing to the NOAA Fisheries Integrated Modeling System

A comprehensive set of guidelines for contributing to NOAA's Fisheries Integrated Modeling System can be found in our NMFS Fish Tools Organization on GitHub. These are mostly guidelines, not rules. Use your best judgment, and feel free to propose changes to this document in a pull request to the collaborative workflow document.

I don't want to read this whole thing I just have a question!!!

Note: Please don't file an issue to ask a question. You'll get faster results by using the resources below.

Please email the FIMS maintainer christine.stawitz@noaa.gov if you have a question.

I want to file a bug or feature request

Please use our issue templates to submit a Bug Report, Feature Request, or Refactor.

How can I contribute?

Not all contributions are code! Writing documentation, teaching, and other activities are also key parts of contributing to software, and guidelines for how to do this are covered in the collaborative workflow book. For more information about open source contributions, see the Open Source Guide's How to Contribute page.
