Module and inverter names #227
Comments
Hi @Peque , thanks for posting! I believe that we process the names from the CEC database exactly as they record them, and that process is unfortunately outside of our control. However, we have been working with different stakeholders and collaborators at Sandia to try to move in a direction where we can use unique IDs for each piece of equipment. Hopefully this will help the manufacturer and model name be more easily distinguished in the future. |
@janinefreeman I need to setup the project space we discussed, for generating the model coefficient file from the CEC list or other input. That would be a first step towards addressing the unique name issue. |
@janinefreeman Could you briefly explain the reason for closing this issue? (was it fixed, rejected, marked as invalid...) 😊 |
Hi @Peque ! We were doing some housekeeping, and this looked like an issue that we don't have a path forward on, given the inverter/module names we use come directly from the CEC. Happy to revive if we end up with a viable project to pull better names from! Let me know if there's activity in that space that I've missed and I'm happy to reopen. Thanks! |
There used to be a separator (
:
) between the manufacturer name and the model name, but it seems that is no longer the case.I think that is very useful. Otherwise, how can someone separate them? It seems like non-trivial.
Maybe they should be 2 separate columns?
