Chat logs no longer being output to nerd.nu/logs #114
Comments
This isn't a Mark2 issue, and is an issue with the scripts you guys use for the logs. IIRC, you're still using the ones that c45y wrote eons ago that are, to put it lightly, hackish (his own words). Mark2's logging itself definitely works fine. |
According to Amaranth this could be because the directorys in the script haven't been changed. |
Due to the way we have logs setup ATM. We decided to have admin logs working with timestamps rather the public logs. This is a rather low priority issue at the moment but we are looking into ways of fixing this. |
Please reopen this until a time when the issue has actually been resolved, there's no need to close this if it hasn't been fixed yet. |
Might as well make note that modlogs as well as user logs are no longer working. Modlogs will be due to the forum migration, and it no longer being able to auth against that DB. |
@stevommmm there's a workaround for modlogs, you just need to be signed in at the nerd.nu/archives/ forum, since as you say, it still checks against that DB. |
I am currently working on a script to parse the public logs out, I will update here once I have made some more progress. |
@stevommmm said that a service needs to be running, and that it has probably stopped, probably due to a complete server shutdown at one point. I hope this helps, I can't remember which service he said it was |
Logs are now working with the new format. |
Similar to the last issue I just submitted, this one started around the time we switched over to using mark2, so I imagine the cause lies somewhere in there. Server logs for the specific admin and mod -logs websites work fine for the most part (some quirks there, but nothing that's standard across the board), but nerd.nu/logs hasn't been updated at all in a couple of months.
Again, not an immediate issue, but it is of great benefit at times to have nerd.nu/logs available to more easily pull chat logs from, especially because it's available to players as well.
