Changes to the Grid Management API

StorageGRID 11.8 uses version 4 of the Grid Management API. Version 4 deprecates version 3; however, versions 1, 2, and 3 are still supported.

Note
 You can continue to use deprecated versions of the management API with StorageGRID 11.8; however, support for these versions of the API will be removed in a future release of StorageGRID. After upgrading to StorageGRID 11.8, the deprecated APIs can be deactivated using the PUT /grid/config/management API.

Changes for ilm-policies API v4

Effective starting with StorageGRID 11.8, version 4 of the ilm-policies API contains the following differences from the version 3:

  • Historical policies are no longer returned. A new, separate API for getting historical policy and tag data has been added at /grid/ilm-history.

  • Properties removed: proposed, historical, historicalRules, activationTime.

  • Properties added: active (boolean), activatedBy (array of tag UUIDs that the policy is assigned to).

  • The optional type query parameter for GET ilm-policies now takes the values inactive and active. The previous values were proposed, active, and historical.

New endpoints for drive management

You can use the /grid/drive-details/{nodeId} API endpoints to perform operations on the drives in specific models of appliance Storage Nodes.
