So, basically, I edited one of the images in the editor to include a shape, but applied the image accidentally before rotating it correctly. As a result, I used "ctrl + z" to undo the action. Navigating back to that image, the shape was successfully removed, but whenever I go to re-add the correct image, the old image which was placed incorrectly re-appears. As a workaround, you can select the shape with the "select" tool and remove it with a right-click.

As a workaround, you can select the shape with the "select" tool and remove it with a right-click.

That is one way. Another (that I used) involved saving the project and closing and relaunching the application.
