I would really like to change installation directory for nrfconnect-bluetooth-low-energy on linux.
Currently the app by default is installed in /home//opt which causes a mess on my system.

Adding the possibility to change the installation directory is currently not planned. What you can probably do (in the sense of: we do not support it, but it should work): You can move the app to a different location and then launch it directly, not through the nRF Connect for Desktop launcher.

Besides not being able to launch the app through the nRF Connect for Desktop launcher it might have some disadvantages like that updates are not provided automatically. But I see now updates for the the Bluetooth LE app coming up and so if the default location is such a problem for you, moving the app may be best for you.
